UAA names Chuck Knepfle vice chancellor for enrollment management and student affairs

On July 9, Chuck Knepfle will join the University of Alaska Anchorage as vice chancellor for enrollment management and student affairs effective Sept. 6.

Knepfle brings 25 years of experience in higher education, including work in enrollment management and financial aid. Most recently, he served as vice president for enrollment management at Portland State University, where he oversaw admissions, financial aid, new student programs, orientation, communications and the Welcome Center. Before joining Portland State, he worked at Clemson University as assistant vice president for enrollment management and director of financial aid.

In his new role, Knepfle will serve all UAA campuses and community locations, supporting students from recruitment through graduation in alignment with the UA Systemwide Attainment Framework.

The position title has been updated from vice chancellor for student affairs to vice chancellor for enrollment management and student affairs, reflecting UAA's strategic focus on enrollment while maintaining its commitment to student success.

Knepfle holds a Bachelor of Science in systems analysis and a Master of Business Administration from Miami University and a doctorate in educational leadership from Clemson University.
